RAINBOW HOUSE

Ten Thousand Helpers operates a transitional home in Frederiksted, St. Croix. Purchased in 2007, Rainbow House is home to eight to ten formerly homeless men, many of them with mental illness. Through legislative, corporate and individual contributions, the home creates a helping environment where anyone, regardless of referral, can walk in off the streets for a snack, socialization, and information about rehabilitation options and other services.

The two apartments downstairs of Rainbow House have been furnished, largely through public donations, to house the residents. There they have access to holistic and traditional intervention therapies to facilitate long-lasting behavioral change. Physical and emotional support is offered while the men are guided through the necessary transformation to reenter their community. They also have an opportunity to enter the world of work through programs created by the organization to serve the community.

Upstairs the Rainbow House is the corporate office of Ten Thousand Helper of St. Croix, Inc.
